Wood Bed Fountation to Support the Heart of Your Bedroom
Our slatted foundations are kiln dried and made from all natural, heavy duty, northwest spruce wood. By design, our slatted foundations fit all standard sized bed frames, and can easily support up to 1500 pounds. To help ensure superlative airflow and maximum support, our wooden mattress foundation slats run side to side, and each slat is spaced 2.75 inches apart.
In addition, each purchase of our wooden bed foundation comes with a luxury, organic cotton cover with a quilted border that slips over the base like a fitted sheet. And finally, our simple but innovative design ensures a "no tools required" easy assembly, and our customers report that it takes one person fifteen minutes to put the entire piece together. If you are looking for excellent craftsmanship and clean and crisp look, this is the wood bed foundation for you.
Wooden Mattress Foundation FAQs:
Do I need a special foundation for my latex mattress?
A latex mattress requires more support than a traditional innerspring mattress. At a bare minimum, there should be no more than 3" between slats. The benefit of more slats is not immediately apparent but will be realized in the later life of your new mattress.
What if I'm interested in buying a Euroslat Foundation for my latex mattress?
While slatted foundations are used to accommodate all kinds of mattresses, they are especially suited to bearing hybrid (latex and "something") mattress and memory foam mattresses. If you're shopping for a latex mattress foundation, we don't recommend purchasing a Euroslat, or standalone wire foundation.
As an experiment, we placed a 10-inch latex mattress on a Euroslat foundation, and the latex began to conform to the split, which made the entire mattress an uneven and uncomfortable sleeping surface. We also noted that eventually the wires running through the top of the foundation will eventually carve into the latex.
What if I'm buying a latex mattress and I have a perfectly functioning box spring? Do I need to replace it with a slatted mattress foundation?
No, not necessarily. If you are purchasing a latex mattress and your box spring is in good working condition, we recommend taking a trip to your local home improvement store and purchasing a 1-3-inch slab of plywood to lay between the box spring and the mattress.
The additional plywood platform will ensure that the box spring coils do not poke or shred your latex mattresses. It will also ensure that your latex mattress is lying on an even, flat surface, which is crucial for the overall longevity of the mattress and the sleep quality for any of its users.
Is your slatted foundation glued together?
No. We do not glue our slatted foundations together. They are shipped as a collection of parts with the necessary assembly instructions, "tools," and hardware included.
